St.Michaels' Parish was established in 1956, having previously been part of the parish of Dandenong. In 1956 it became part of the Diocese of Sale. In 2002 the Diocese published a Pastoral Plan, Journeying Together.

Journeying Together identified 5 Mission Directions:
  1. Building parishes as welcoming and inclusive communities.
  2. Connecting with youth and young families.
  3. Enriching prayer, liturgy and life.
  4. Nurturing the life and leadership of faith communities.
  5. Shaping the church of the future.
Currently a new pastoral plan is being prepared.
